We work together closely with our customers to ensure their shipments are expedited on a timely manner with all government agencies that may be involved.

US Customs & Border Protection

Since the implementation of the Modernization Act of 1993 became in effect, importers in the United States have been assigned most of the responsibility for meeting the importing requirements. This is important because the severe fines & penalties set out by US Customs will be assessed against the importer of record. This program requires correctness of classification, valuation, country of origin rules, rate of exchange, product marking, and other government agency requirements. Our experience allows us to ensure compliance pertaining to the importation and exportation of your merchandise.

US Customs has implemented recent security changes such as C-TPAT and FAST that has revolutionized entry process for commercial shipments entering the United States. In February of 2004 Trevino International was approved as a member in the international C-TPAT program. C-TPAT is volunteer program and it is widely recognized as one of the most effective means of providing the highest level of cargo security through close cooperation with international supply chain businesses such as importers, carriers, consolidators, licensed customs brokers, and manufacturers. Some benefits in being C-TPAT members are reduced number of inspections, reduced penalties, and expedited clearance times.

Food & Drug Administration (FDA)

Our expertise is in perishable items as well as other products that may also be regulated by the FDA and are alert of the constant changes that have emerged since the Bioterrorism Act of 2002. We can assist you with facility registrations and prior-notice of imported goods as well as guide you with labeling requirements, acidified foods, and automatic detentions. It’s important to keep mindful of the constant changes that are being implemented since all FDA related merchandise may assess penalties up to three times the value of the imported goods.

United State Department of Agriculture

We regularly work with government agencies like the United States Department of Agriculture and are able to advise you of the import requirements as far as phytosanitary certificates, co-op inspection requests, wood packing material requirements, APHIS permits and admissibility of goods. We maintain a dispatcher at the CBP import lot at all times to ensure your shipment is expedited as quickly as possible.
